Open mic for spontaneous memories

5 min read

A short moment when others may speak can release stories you did not yet know.

Announce that anyone who wishes may share for one or two minutes. A host keeps time gently and thanks each speaker.

Not everyone wants the stage. That is normal. The offer alone can be enough.

Boundaries and safety

Agree that humour and difficult topics stay respectful. The funeral director can help if tension rises.

Note in advance who you definitely want to hear so the list does not grow endless.

Keeping stories

Ask relatives to jot notes or request calm recording with consent. Stories can be added later to a memorial page.
