Inspiration
A familiar scent in the room
4 min read
Perfume, coffee, or flowers that remind you of your loved one can call up memories without words.
Scent often brings images more strongly than music alone. Gentle incense, fresh coffee at the door, or a vase of favourite flowers can make the room feel familiar.
Consider allergies and venue rules. Less is often more here.
Choosing with care
Avoid heavy perfume if not everyone welcomes it. A bowl of coffee beans or a single scented note may be enough.
Ask the funeral director what is allowed in the hall.
Continuing at home
Later you may use the same scent at a quiet remembrance at home. It can comfort without a large ritual.
